Maintenance Tech
The primary responsibility of this position is to perform preventative maintenance on small to large mechanical equipment, with additional repair work as needed. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, agile, and efficient, as the role involves significant manual labor. Strong communication skills are essential.
You must have the ability to follow instructions carefully and demonstrate attention to detail. The job requires the ability to work consistently for long hours when necessary. While no formal education is required, a high school diploma is preferred. Previous work experience or on-the-job training is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance on air handling equipment, including changing air filters, checking and changing fan motor belts, greasing fan bearings and shafts, checking condensate drains, and cleaning evaporator coils as needed.
- Maintain condensing units by cleaning coils as needed and checking fan motor mounts.
- Clean, service, and check filters on ice machines.
- Conduct monthly fire extinguisher checks.
- Complete work orders called in by church staff.
- Change light bulbs and ballasts.
- Pull wire or cables and perform simple electrical wiring.
- Repair audio-visual equipment and assist the Media Department with repairs and installations.
- Replace ceiling tiles.
- Assist with special events assembly, including stages, lighting, and props.
- Perform plumbing repairs and unstops.
