Building and Grounds Assistant
The Facilities Manager will be the point of contact for the church-wide calendar. This person will need to have exceptional people skills. The assistant will need to possess computer skills and operational knowledge of printers, copiers, and other business machines. It is highly beneficial for this person to understand church work and church language. Good written, oral, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Two years of supervisor and housekeeping experience required. A high school graduate or equivalent. A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills. Strong negotiation skills and understanding of vendor relations, including quotation and ordering processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleaning products & chemicals for Housekeeping. Keep material safety data sheet up to date.
- Ordering of paper goods, drinks, and coffee service supplies as needed for events.
- Work with external third parties to assess new and better products.
- Facilitate inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.
- Responsible for church calendar. Determine if a space is available for the proposed event and place the proposal on our weekly calendar of proposed events to be taken to our Monday calendar time in staff meeting. When and if approved, the facilities manager will notify Minister, Director, or Assistant.
- Ordering uniforms and maintaining stock.
