Our Beliefs
Beliefs
God
We worship, follow, and believe in the eternal, unchanging, holy and loving God. He is the Creator and Ruler of all things. God is One, yet He reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God loves every person and has a plan for their life.
Jesus
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was miraculously conceived and was born of a virgin. Jesus was fully God and fully man. Because of His sinless life, Jesus became the sacrifice for our sins. After He died on the cross, He was buried and three days later He was raised from the dead. Jesus is the only way by which a person can know God personally. We eagerly await His triumphant return.
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ. He convicts us of our sin and our need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He comforts, teaches, and empowers believers to live in righteousness. He equips every believer with spiritual gifts for service and ministry in the Body of Christ.
Man
Man is made in the image of God. Man is a soul which will live forever. Man is separated from God by sin. Unless a person has a personal relationship with God, they have no hope of Heaven.
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
Bible
The Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. The truths of the Bible are absolute standards for all people throughout the ages. The Bible is the final authority for all matters of the Church and the Christian life. The Bible contains the answers to all of life’s questions.
The Church
Jesus Christ is the head of the Church. All believers make up the Church which is also called the body of Christ. The purpose of the Church is to carry out God’s mission in the world. God’s Church and Mission are best lived out through local, autonomous churches.
Baptism
Through baptism, we follow Christ’s example and obey His command. Baptism by immersion, symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of the believer to new life in Christ. Baptism serves as a public testimony of one’s faith after receiving Christ as Savior and Lord.
Lord's Supper
The Lord’s Supper is an act of obedience and a testimony of personal faith. It symbolically memorializes the death of Jesus Christ. Self-examination and confession of sins should precede participation in the Lord’s Supper. Every born again believer is invited to participate in the Lord’s Supper. We observe the Lord’s Supper six or more times a year.
