Let’s Get Ready to Rumble
The Lamb opens the seals and the world starts coming apart. War, famine, death, and martyrs under the altar asking how long. By the end of Revelation 6, the most powerful people alive are hiding in caves and begging the rocks to fall on them. They would rather be buried than face the One on the throne.
The chapter closes with a question. Who is able to stand?

He assures His people that justice is coming. He uses creation to display His holiness. And He protects those who trust Him, not always from death, but always through it.
The call in the middle of all of it is this: repent today. Endure tomorrow. Because Christ is better than whatever trial you face, and stronger than any power this world can hand over.

Reach outRevelation 6 shows us the end of the road for rebellion. The people in this chapter still will not ask for forgiveness. In fact, they would rather have a mountain fall on them than look at the face of God. That is what sin does, it makes us prefer hiding.
The Bible says every one of us is dead in sin. We’re not sick or struggling. No, we’re dead in our sin. Which means the problem is not that we need to try harder. Dead people can’t try.
So here is what our God did about it: Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures. He was buried and raised again on the third day, according to the Scriptures. That’s the gospel in one sentence, and Paul says it is of first importance.
Look at Revelation 7:14 again. The multitude washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. They didn’t clean themselves up and then then come to Him. They came, and He cleaned them. The process is the same for you and for me. Christ doesn’t offer a partnership where He does most of it and we cover the rest. No, He did all of it. So there is nothing to add and nothing to earn. There is only this: turn from your sin, and trust Him.
That turning is what the Bible calls repentance. It means to agree with God about our sin and move toward Him instead of away.
If you have never done that, please do it today. Revelation 6 tells us the truth about what waiting does: people who plan to repent later do not repent. They run.
