TKP Teachers provide a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment where children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical skills in a nurturing Christian environment.
About Trinity Kids Preschool
Trinity Kids Preschool (TKP) is committed to encouraging faith & nurturing growth by providing early childhood education to preschoolers ages 8 weeks to pre-kindergarten. TKP meets during the week and offers a flexible schedule that includes children in care for 1-4 days, Monday-Thursday, 8:30-2:00.
Responsibilities
- There is to be a worker in the room at all times. A child should never be left alone.
- Always maintain a moderate voice level and positive attitude while caring for children
- Greet all parents and children in a pleasant and friendly manner
- Create an atmosphere of love for each child and provide for all their needs
- Never use physical punishment or verbal abuse
- Keep baby beds changed, toys sterilized, and materials and supplies in order
- Leave room in a clean and orderly fashion (picking up toys, cleaning up large food pieces, placing soiled diapers in tied bag, etc)
- Teach proper bathroom procedures (flushing toilets, washing hands, wiping self, etc.) Soiled diapers should be disposed of properly in diaper bags that are provided. Place garbage bags in trash closet after session is over. Always keep the door open when taking a child into the restroom
- Make sure all children’s belongings are marked and each child receives his/her own things
- Responsible for class activities at childcare times
- Be willing to learn new ideas, use them and attend training sessions when they are provided
- Be consistent with rules of the room by teaching the children proper use of items
- Be an example. Never do anything you don’t want the children doing. Be willing to work and play with the children and not just sit and watch them
- The security check-in system is to always be used. ALL preschoolers must be checked in by parent before entering the classroom. Parents must present an out slip when picking up the child. Always release a child to a parent or approved adult, never to another child.
Requirements
- Must have personal relationship with Christ.
- Be a member of Trinity Baptist Church or a church of like faith and beliefs.
- Have a basic understanding of the developmental ages and stages of preschoolers.
- Desire to develop and nurture positive, Christ-centered relationships with children, parents and co-workers.
- Able to maintain, organize, and teach a classroom of preschoolers.
- Be ready to plan and prepare age-appropriate activities for the class.
- Leave spaces clean and toys sanitized.
- Be willing to follow all church Trinity Kids Preschool policies and be a positive representative of Trinity Baptist Church.
- Physical requirements include being able to lift at least 20 pounds, get on and off the floor, actively supervising and providing basic care for children, and standing for extended periods of time.
