All of us come into this room broken, all of us come in with mistakes, shame, guilt, addictions, in our lives, and our biggest longing in our lives is to be healed from our sin. Jesus knows this. But He also wants us, with admission, to know that we can't do it on our own. And that's the Gospel. The Gospel is, you cannot do it. No matter how hard you try, no matter the family dynamic or whatever you bring into this room, you cannot earn salvation. You can't do it. Sin is separation from Jesus. It's missing the mark, and we've got to have something greater in our lives, and Someone greater to pursue after us, but we have got to admit that we can't do it.
