Pray for Peace

There’s so much fear and uncertainty in our world but our faithful God is still on His throne. He alone is “our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; Though its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride… ‘Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’ The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold.” (Psalm 46:1–11)

Ways to Pray for Peace in Israel and Gaza

Survivors

  • Pray for practical provisions and safe places to recover.
  • Pray for support as they rebuild their lives.
  • Pray that they ultimately find hope and comfort in Christ, the great healer who binds up the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3) and provides the peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). He alone is our true refuge.

Hostages and Prisoners

  • Ask God for protection and a safe return home.
  • Pray for their families and loved ones who anxiously wait for them.
  • Pray they ultimately find hope and freedom Christ.

First Responders and Relief Agencies

  • Pray for wisdom, unity, and courage to carry out their duties justly and with compassion.
  • Ask God to equip them with effective coordination and communication.
  • Pray for the crucial resources needed to aid them in their duties.

Believers

  • Pray that believers would look to God as their true source of safety and peace.
  • Ask God to comfort and protect them, giving them faith and hope to trust Him in the face of uncertainty.
  • Pray that the Gospel stirs hearts to serve and share Christ’s hope. Ask God to work powerfully in and through His people for their good and His glory (Romans 8:28).

Peace

  • Pray for peace in Israel, Gaza and the surrounding area.
  • Pray for leaders on both sides. Ask God for responsiveness in aiding victims and establishing wise long-term solutions.

Above all, pray that the Prince of Peace would do what only He can do. May His will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matt 6:10).
